Virginia Harp Center Festival brings diverse international artists to your doorstep in the Mid-Atlantic area! Founded in Chicago in 1864 by George Washburn Lyon and Patrick J. Healy, Lyon & Healy built its first harp, Model 21 #501, in 1889. It was the sincere love of music and the enterprising nature of the young and ambitious Healy which drove the company to improve an instrument already thought to be perfect. It was Healy’s covenant which set the stage for decade after decade of groundbreaking innovation in engineering and craftsmanship. For 130 years, Lyon & Healy artisans have maintained Healy’s commitment to a practice of old-world craftsmanship while embracing new-world innovations.
The Virginia Harp Center opened in 1997 in Midlothian, Virginia with the vision of creating a business dedicated to serving all harpists. Our commitment to providing the highest quality customer service inspired us to open a second showroom location. Our showroom in Haddonfield, New Jersey offers the same extensive inventory selection as well as the knowledgeable, friendly and ever-helpful staff that you have come to expect from our company. Today, our showrooms offer the largest selection of harps on the East Coast by the finest lever and pedal harp makers in the world.
